Benno Moiseiwitsch (1890 - 1963)

Hailed by Rakhmaninov as his 'spiritual heir' Moiseiwitsch was well know enough to have reduced me to incoherant blabberings when I met him on a train bound for Southampton I believe.

I was overcome at my first ever meeting with a famous musician.

He asked his companion 'what does he want?'

I improved from then on.
